Cabarete East

Cabarete East is the area of the town east of Janet’s Supermarket.

Right off the main road, Cabarete East is an area where property values are lower due to its distance from the towns center. However, due to cost of construction going up, and Cabarete becoming the surf and wind capital of Dominican Republic, this area is becoming a hot-spot once again.

In the past, this area was the town center, some refer to it as “old Cabarete.” When windsurfing and kitesurfing became popular, it put Cabarete on the map as a top 10 kitesurfing destination. New businesses and hotels started spreading to new territory and slowly Cabarete East became what it is today; a sleepy town with great infrastructure and potential.

This is an area with endless sand beaches all the way to Rio San Juan. Many argue early mornings are the best from here because of how the sun rises right over the ocean.

Over the last year we’ve seen investors buy up old projects and give them a new life. One good example of this is Carambola Surf House, a hotel that centers on water sports that was completely renovated in 2018.
